“The fault with the mayor’s logic, however, is that of 508 people the TTC hired last year (the year it increased bus service) just 222 were drivers. The TTC, by far the city’s biggest employer, now has a payroll of about 12,500 people, but transports the same number of riders as it it 20 years ago, when it had 25% fewer employees.”
